Lesbique and queer.red present: Darkroom on Stage

Bringing an evening of queer pleasure to “Plein Theater” through film & performances plus an discussion about our! experiences in queer sex in public events and spaces. 

Lesbique has become an institution in Amsterdam, carving out a queer and intersectional space in the heart of gay male centered pleasure at Club Church. For World Pride, Lesbique is at it again… Creating a stage for the work of queer sex workers and sex positive artists, amplifying voices from the full beautiful spectrum of the lgbtiq+ community. For this event, Lesbique has invited queer.red to co-curate an evening of short films by sex workers to share a stage with sex positive performers. queer.red is Netherland’s sex worker film & art festival working to increase funding for sex worker artists. Following the performances and films, a panel of queer activists will discuss community practices and the role of queer sex in public. 

Our voices, bodies and perspectives belong in the spotlight, not only during pride but also in the world and in general. Join us in celebrating queer joy through performances and sex worker-made films. Together we will dare to dream of our most pleasurable futures.

Wealth of Whoredom 2025 Netherlands English Directed by: Red Insight

Together we created a short film, consisting of scenes with sets of actions that played out our work experiences, re–conceptualised within the natural woodland setting. We scripted the scenes with catchy voiceovers, offering suggestions for greater ease and efficiency at work. Hooker wisdom includes: “Money up front, count it, make sure the notes are real.” “Take it slow on the pole, you don’t want to get sweaty” and of course, “Have fun!” The film also reflected our experiences of the retreat, with its focus on community as a place to rest, learn, and hold space for each other

Discussion about the Status of Sex Work in the Netherlands with Quirine Lengkeek

Quirine Lengkeek is a queer feminist activist, sociologist and trade unionist. She’s fond of glitter, policy documents and advocating for the labour rights of sex workers, be it at the municipality, parliament, or the UN! She is a board member of queer.red.

Vivi puts a personals ad in a fetish mag, looking for adventure in San Francisco. She and Mx. Mayhem meet for a hot anonymous encounter, but in a town this small, they were destined to awkwardly run into each other at the local queer bar.

Fox was innocently jogging in the woods when notorious boi hunter Vanniall stops him and offers him some hot chocolate…if only he’ll follow her home. Luckily, he has no sense of stranger danger and comes home with her for a hot, sweaty fuck! The Whoresurrection 2024 Netherlands English Directed by: Beau

Lilith, the original femme outcast and whoremother is resurrected after a particularly whore-y ritualist makes a sacrifice. Cinematic and breathtaking, The Whoresurrection is both a poem and prayer to protect and bring prosperity to all sex workers – past, present and future.

Discussion: In bed with local queer activists about queer sex in public spaces

Bear Silver (He/They) is an activist, performer and community organizer who has been involved in various grassroots initiatives in Amsterdam since 1999. Since 2016, Bear has been involved in numerous aspects of ethical pornography.  They helped found the Porn Film Festival Amsterdam (@pff_amsterdam) in 2023, and continue being involved with various sexy happenings. @brslvr.bsky.social

Jay Muller is the founder of QueerBoxing, a foundation that gives FREE boxing classes to anyone that is queer – why free? According to Jay, feeling safe should never come at a cost someone cannot afford. When he is not coaching he also works in a gay fetish store (underground fetish). For the last two/three years Jay has been exploring the gay (cruising) scene as a trans man. How do the cis-gays react to pussy in the wild? Well you’d be surprised! @upperkut_jay

Alexandra Raymakers loves to explore new spaces, tools, and people, and to support others in doing the same! She’s a community organiser and facilitates concent workshops for almost 15 years. In her events, she centres sharing knowledge and skills, intergenerational contact, and removing barriers so participants reflect the diversity within our communities. She is a board member of queer.red.
