SUMMARY:Télétravail du sexe (Remote Sex Work) + Q&A
DESCRIPTION:Télétravail du sexe (Remote Sex Work) + Q&A with the Filmmakers \n\n\n\nLocation: Zaal | Times: 17:15-19:00 | Tickets €11\,25 @ Cinetol \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCarmina & Prune | France | 2024 | 73 min | French with English subs \n\n\n\nA compelling documentary led by online sex workers\, giving us an intimate peek into their daily lives and guiding us behind the scenes. It demonstrates that adult platforms are not only a workplace but also a space of creativity and self-expression\, in which many individuals thrive and develop new skills. This challenges the audience’s preconceived ideas and gives them a better understanding of this industry. \n\n\n\nWith the emergence of new subscription-based adult platforms like OnlyFans or MYM\, it has become easier to create and sell adult content from a simple computer or smartphone. This content can range from the most ‘soft’ erotic nude photos to the most explicit pornographic videos. “Télétravail du sexe” (“Remote Sex Work”) is a documentary that gives a voice to online sex workers by following them in their daily lives\, thus showing the behind-the-scenes reality. It reveals that adult platforms can be a space for creativity and body expression\, where many people thrive daily and develop new professional skills that go far beyond what the general public imagines. \n\n\n\nWhether one has chosen this profession out of passion or convenience\, sex telework\, like many other solitary and independent jobs\, comes with its own joys and successes\, and empowerment… But also with burnout\, isolation\, and alienation due to the judgment of others\, performance and financial pressure — which is further reinforced by the stigma and censorship experienced on the Internet.

SUMMARY:Cada Vez que Muero (Every Time I Die) + Intro by Papaya Kuir
DESCRIPTION:Location: Grote Zaal | Times: 15:00-16:45 | Tickets: €11\,25 @ Cinetol \n\n\n\nThis film will be introduced by Papaya Kuir: a lesbo-trans – feminist collective created by and for Latin American migrants and refugees residing in the Netherlands and the allies in their struggle. \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\nRaúl Vidales Bohórquez | Colombia\, 2022\, 92 minutes | Spanish with English subs \n\n\n\nA hybrid feature film that blends documentary with fiction and approaches cinema as a ritual of symbolic transformation in the death experience of seven transwomen. The film’s testimonies\, along with surreal and fantastic scenes\, come together to narrate death viewed from different angles: as related to transfeminicides and as social death that seeks to nullify through exclusion and silence those seen as uncomfortable by others. The film also deals with the multiple deaths that we experience in life; death that speaks of resignations\, of forgetfulness\, of separations\, of changes. “Every Time I Die” is an invitation to shake off mourning through delirious weeping or through sagacious bursts of laughter\, with the aim of seeing death through the eyes of those who radiate life\, celebrate life\, and struggle for life.

SUMMARY:Archivo Puta
DESCRIPTION:Artist talk: Archivo Puta by María Riot \n\n\n\nLocation: Etage | Times: 12:00-15:00 (including break) | Tickets: Donation (suggested sliding scale €0-20) – online registration required \n\n\n\nThis infinite project in constant construction aims to unite activism and the political recognition of rights for the collective as well as appeal to the sensitivity that only art can give. She will present her work and talk about the project in more depth. \n\n\n\n\nAfter more than ten years working in the sex industry\, María Riot decides to delve deeply into artistic projects related to sexual work since art and creation is their primary motivation always. One of them is “Archivo Puta”\, a project that currently has more than 600 photographs in analog and instant formats. \n\n\n\n\nThe project is self-taught and independent\, carried out with money earned through sex work that is invested for the films\, scans\, prints\, etc. She believes it is important to give visibility and support to projects like these as a response to classism and elitism in art and to give opportunities to subjects who are not usually part of museums\, galleries or first-person narratives in art. Archivo Puta seeks to be exhibited in exhibitions and in the future to become a book of photographs and being part of a short documentary. \n\n\n\n“Archivo Puta” is a multidisciplinary project that seeks to create archives of the present as well as recover memory\, make visible the beauty and resistance of the collective. Through the photographic project\, it aims to create an archive of the present since\, due to stigma\, many people who engage in sex work decide to hide. Although there are artistic projects about sex work\, there are very few made by the sex workers themselves or without a voyeuristic gaze\, with ethics and political context. Thus\, it seeks to challenge the existing perspective from society towards those who engage in sex work but also the perspective from photography and art in general. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBy bringing to the forefront the agency of those portrayed and making visible that the photographers themselves also share the same work activity and stigma\, something that does not usually happen in the world of photography\, where art\, due to its lack of accessibility and resources\, is not usually made massively by sex workers and our visual stories and narratives are told by others. The project arises from the need for the world to know the silenced stories of people who are stigmatized\, criminalized\, and persecuted solely for using sexuality as their work tool. Through the photos\, captured in multiple analog formats\, the sex workers are portrayed as they wish to be seen. In addition to the photo sessions with sex workers\, the project includes photographs of their own world related to sex work and sexuality in their life in general: photographs on porn sets\, activism\, clients\, hotel hallways\, herself\, kink\, desires\, fetishes\, friendship and lust. \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\nMaría Riot (September 12\, 1991) Born in the Province of Buenos Aires\, Argentina and currently based in Buenos Aires\, Argentina and Barcelona\, Spain. She is a sex worker\, sex workers’ rights activist\, intimacy coordinator and artist. She is a member of AMMAR\, the Sex Workers Union of Argentina. She writes in the media and books and gives talks on sex work\, such as the lecture “Bad women: control mechanisms” at the Museum TEA Tenerife in January 2024 in the framework of Fotonoviembre at the International Biennial of Photography. She is a curator of the selection and screening of films about sex work “Whores on Screen: Portraits of sex work in first person” and is currently working as an actress and scriptwriter in a documentary film about sex work with the Argentinean film director Agustina Comedi. She is the author of the photography project “Archivo Puta”\, exhibited for the first time at MACBA\, Barcelona last December 2023 in the frame of the “108 days” exhibition\, by Lydia Ourahmane.

Ticket holders that arrive after 22:30 may be turned away if we are at capacity. \n\n\n\n"We roll out the red carpet for ourselves... whores on the move crack the old established world... a love letter to the sex worker community"\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSex workers from the Netherlands\, Belgium\, and France perform feats of splendour for our delight! \n\n\n\nDress code: we invite you to dress loudly to create an audience that is celebratory of the sex worker community(whatever that means to you). Cabaret\, fetish\, whore-ish finery is all welcome! \n\n\n\nSex Workers Who Changed History Fashion Show \n\n\n\nBy SAVE and Trans Sisters \n\n\n\nWe roll out the red carpet for ourselves\, start the music and our historical fashion show begins! In the media\, sex workers are usually depicted as victims\, we tell the stories of heroes and heroines. Sex workers who rebelled\, who fought for women and queer rights\, who fought against slavery. Sex workers who made history! \n\n\n\nBased on work by Dutch sex worker\, historian and philosopher\, Sietske Altink. Read more. \n\n\n\nThe Sex Workers History Fashion Show is an ongoing collaboration between SAVE and Trans Sisters. See their other scheduled performances here. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Sewers of Heterosexuality \n\n\n\nby Marianne Chargois \n\n\n\nIn the underground of the triumphant heterosexual world\, dissidents develop autonomous economic systems\, where toxic masculinities are expressed through alternative sexual practices. The sewers of heterosexuality are overflowing as armies of whores on the move crack the old established world. \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n[Organisers’ note: the performance takes place in front of a screen depicting images of Marianne’s work in medical BDSM) \n\n\n\nMarianne Chargois is a sex worker since 20 years\, an activist for sex workers rights through the collective STRASS in France until 2019 and since then through UTSOPI\, Belgium. She is the creator of SNAP!\, a sex worker festival\, and co-organiser of the Brussels Porn Film Festival. She creates performances with materials from BDSM sessions with her clients\, in a language that mixes political purpose\, humor and obscene images. \n\n\n\nLe Bal des Putes (The Hookers Ball) \n\n\n\nby Kata Loba with Djombo Goddess\, Olivia Verner\, Malena and La Baphomette \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis show is a 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘅 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆. Through 𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲\, 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴\, 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴\, 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗱𝘆\, we explore the 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗼𝗱𝘆\, the 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗱𝘆𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗰𝘀 in human relationships and honor the fights for our rights. Le bal des putes is queer and feminist. It is a living art form halfway between play\, documentary and cabaret. \n\n\n\nLe bal des putes is first and foremost a series of personal accounts. These stories open the door to our worlds\, our experiences and our intimacy. Through these stories\, we can reappropriate a reality that concerns us all\, and in so doing make up for opinions that are all too often stigmatising and uninformed. They are windows into our daily lives\, where authenticity is our mainstay. Because we know how difficult it is to talk about sex work without being tempted to either glorify or condemn it. \n\n\n\nWe put ourselves on stage through a series of stories and real acts. We share our visions\, our obsessions\, our questions: What does a salary depend on? Why do we want to justify ourselves when we talk about it?  What do we do with our bodies? How do we look at it and accept each other? What will happen when everyone knows that we are whores? \n\n\n\nOur testimonies evoke the dynamics of power within sex work. How it is exercised over the body and sexuality\, and how it can be the mouthpiece of our feminism. They also evoke the solidarity that exists in this milieu\, the way we communicate\, train and protect each other. They also evoke the moments that are dear to us\, our victories and our joys\, our passion and our dedication to this work\, our suffering and our personal struggles. \n\n\n\nWe whores take care of people and we deserve to be treated with the same care and respect as everyone else. \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\nAllies – please consider your position relative to the sex worker community when selecting your ticket amount. We have set a sliding scale to include sex workers\, migrants\, trans and gender expansive people\, and BIPOC community members. If you are a sex worker among these communities and cannot afford €7\,5 please contact info@queer.red. A limited number of tickets will be reserved.

SUMMARY:Porn Shorts + Q&A
DESCRIPTION:Porn shorts: intro by María Riot + Q&A with filmmakers \n\n\n\nLocation: Grote Zaal | Times: 16:45-18:00 | Tickets: €11\,25 @ Cinetol \n\n\n\nThis film programme  will be introduced by María Riot: an Argentinian sex worker\, sex workers’ rights activist\, intimacy coordinator and artist. \n\n\n\nFilmmakers will be present for a Q&A following the screenings. \n\n\n\nA Quick Fix \n\n\n\nColorblock Films\, April Flores Films\, Praline Studio | Germany | 2024 | 7 min | English  \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\nHousewife April Flores’ washing machine breaks down. When dykey plumber Manon Praline arrives\, April turns on her bimbo charm\, and reveals her real intentions. Soon Manon is sliding into April’s velvet robe\, and she wants that wrench where?!  \n\n\n\nCane \n\n\n\nBendix Mignon | Germany | 2024 | 5 min \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\nA short queer porn film which celebrates crip sex. It is part of an ongoing (and very practical) research into crip porn\, into what it means to fuck with disability and normalcy. It queers the actor and finds agency in our aids. Who assists whom\, who grants access? “cane” is an intimate red-hot crip-sexy hip-grinding rhythmic conversation of a person and their cane. \n\n\n\nBang Click Bang \n\n\n\nHardwerk | Germany | 2021 | 17 min | English \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\nInspired by the sexploitation films of Russ Meyers and Michelangelo Antonioni’s Blow Up (1966)\, HardWerk’s latest gang bang is a slow burning subversion of cinematic tropes that finds the carnal in the camp and the sumptuous in the sleaze. For her first ever gang bang and first facial on film\, lead performer Maria Riot and the filmmakers reimagined the figure of the bossy (and generally male) photographer with a much-needed shift on the gender axis\, allowing Maria to take the lead in quite literally staging her own fantasy. Here\, the line between object\, subject and artist can become blurred; men in all their exaggerated machismo can become eager playthings\, and the directive cannot go unheeded: look at me. \n\n\n\nNo Man Like Me \n\n\n\nJaq Quicksilver | USA | 2023 | 4 min | English \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n“So you’re bicurious…. Big deal. Get online\, you can be sucking dick or getting fucked within an hour – if that’s what you really want to do. It’s one of the easiest things on earth to do. …But instead you’re here with me. Let’s explore why that is. \n\n\n\nReclamation \n\n\n\nOran Julius | USA | 2022 | 6 min | English \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\nThree friends gather on the solstice to practice a healing ritual involving messaging\, fists\, and hot wax. Who says wax play can’t be therapeutic? Reclamation is all about leaning into kink as healing\, self care\, and community love. Three friends gather on the solstice to practice a healing ritual designed to help them embrace and celebrate their bodies. Together they pamper each other before forming a bond with a very special seal. In Reclamation we celebrate Black bodies\, Brown bodies\, fat bodies\, disabled bodies\, hypermobile bodies\, chronically ill bodies\, and trans bodies.  \n\n\n\nVice Versa  \n\n\n\nJulian Curico | France/Germany | 2022 | 20 min  \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\nDancing towards his prey\, Jamal is ready for his long awaited opening…

SUMMARY:A Guided Qleasure Practice
DESCRIPTION:Workshop: A Guided Qleasure Practice Sex Worker Only \n\n\n\nBy Gia G \n\n\n\nLocation: Etage | Times: 16:30-19:30 | Tickets: Donation (suggested sliding scale €0-20) – online registration required \n\n\n\n\nIn a guided qleasure practice we will research\, uncover and practice the relationship we have to qleausure. \n\n\n\nQleasure or queer pleasure breaks boundaries\, borders and binaries. There is no norm\, no right way\, no wrong way\, only your way. Qleasure states we are all experts when it comes to our own pleasure\, we just need some time and space to figure it out sometimes. \n\n\n\n\nDuring this practice\, we will focus on the individual relationship(s) we have to pleasure. What feels good? What does my body want? How does my head want to be touched\, right here\, right now? We start this session by grounding in the space\, checking in with the others\, making some collective agreements\, before we go into a guided practice followed by some free play. This workshop is focused on the relationship with your own body\, not those of others. The latter is to be explored in the full 4nights series called Pleasure Nights! \n\n\n\nThis workshop will be in English\, is SW-only and offers space for max 20 participants. \n\n\n\nGiA G is a queer heaux\, spicy performer and model\, pleasure activist\, facilitator and writer. They dedicate their practice and personal life to seeking\, researching and practicing pleasure by helping people connect with their own expertise. GiA G is an infinite learner who continuously builds their knowledge through sex work\, books\, listening\, questioning\, workshops\, and practicing.

SUMMARY:Four Chambers Special
DESCRIPTION:Four Chambers Special: Various films by Vex Ashley \n\n\n\nLocation: Etage | Times: 15:30-16:15 | Tickets: €11\,25 @ Cinetol \n\n\n\nFour Chambers is a name that keeps popping up at every SW and porn festival we visit. So we looked into who is behind this project and it turned out to be the very talented porn performer\, director and filmmaker Vex Ashley. With a art school and photography background\, as well as digital sex work online\, Four Chambers became a project\, an idea and an ongoing collaboration with the intention to explore the aesthetic and conceptual potential of pornography as a creative medium for ideas. We handpicked several of their works as examples of some exquisite DIY works with high-end aesthetic production value from a community perspective. \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\nTwo of Swords | UK | 2022 | 13 min  \n\n\n\nAn ancient symbol of the divine masculine\, the sword = cock symbolism isn’t exactly subtle here. Recreated with some of my favourite sexually charged tarot imagery from the suit of swords under glowing neon red light. An occult homoerotic Bacchanalia ritual or a sweaty 3am club fuck. \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\nArchetype | UK |  2019 | 13 min \n\n\n\nPorn aesthetics and archetypes are fascinating\, sex on film has always been innovative\, at the forefront of pushing technology and creativity. Being pushed to the margins means you’re forced to make new rules and create your own visions\, processes and traditions. Porn world developed its own visual language\, signs and semiotics. \n\n\n\nThis is the first in a new series we’re hoping to continue exploring where we look at traditional Porn stereotypes\, archetypes\, aesthetics and cliches and how we can explore\, subvert or expand them. Exploring some classic archetypes – play fighting\, wrestling\, leather bars\, vests\, sweat and skin we were lucky enough to be able to license the perfect brooding Berlin goth gay club soundtrack from Boy Harsher and we were good to go. \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\nA Cyborg Manifesto | UK | 2020 | 5 min \n\n\n\nOriginally commissioned by The Museum of Sex for the CAM LIFE exhibition\, ‘A Cyborg Manifesto’ is a visual essay and a personal exploration of a life spent online. \n\n\n\nWe broadcast our image in cells and pixels across continents\, viewed by lenses\, pushed through codecs and compression algorithms\, adapting new ways to circumvent the physical. Thousands of people every day fuck and fuck themselves broadcast live via webcam. I spent 4 years from 2012-2016 live online\, executing a carefully choreographed performance of authenticity – shapeshifting\, adapting\, morphing. My sex and self monetised for consumption\, working for tips. Records of this will outlive me\, videos of cam shows ripped\, recorded and uploaded on illegal sites\, digital time capsules or ticking time bombs.  \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\nProximity IV | UK | 2015 | 11 min \n\n\n\nThe Proximity series was really where the project started. It aims to replicate the intensity of a sexual connection by bringing the camera in. \n\n\n\nHighlight the intricacies and minutia of sex\, things often lost in sex on screen. The closeness of the camera allows for greater focus on breath\, sweat\, touches that might otherwise be lost. It replicates the experience of a partner. Body parts merge and skin blends. It becomes less about clarity and more about atmosphere and experience.  \n\n\n\nabout the filmmaker \n\n\n\nVex Ashley is a porn performer\, director and filmmaker. After rejecting being demoted to “muse” spending 3 years at art school and getting naked online as a cam girl\, Vex started making work as Four Chambers to expand the idea of what sex on film could say\, do and be. Vex performs in\, directs\, edits and produces the Four Chambers project in collaboration with a partner and the performers. She speaks\, writes and spends a lot of time online talking about making porn creatively and independently\, sex as performance\, authenticity\, art and pornography\, technology and sex\, camming\, censorship and the music of Joanna Newsom.  \n\n\n\nVex is self taught in film making with an emphasis on collaborative DIY practices; Four Chambers now exists alongside a new wave of creators making contemporary pornographic work from a new perspective. The project remains deliberately ambiguous\, rejecting labels for both their films and performers\, existing in-between genres of both art and pornography and dismissing the need for a definition of either. Exploring themes of technology\, symbolism\, mythology and alchemy and their intrinsic intersection with sex and part of the growing decentralisation from traditional adult industry business\, Four Chambers is independent\, DIY\, conceptual\, pornography cinema.

For them\, getting together is more than necessary\, it is a matter of survival. \n\n\n\nThis film has mention of sexual violence and suicide. \n\n\n\n4 SEASONS BROTHEL  \n\n\n\nKiddo Leone | Belgium | 2024 | 30 min | French with English subs \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\nAs a sex worker\, fighting against invisibility is a daily struggle. Here’s four sex workers journey from their prep rituals to their after work rituals\, passing through their way to work and a work session.  \n\n\n\nThey testify about their different experiences of coming in\, coming out\, outing and professional retraining as sex workers. After realizing that\, how do you escape? Let’s embrace vulnerability and discover new dimensions of pleasure through your body. The notion that traditional masculinity\, with its prohibitions against emotional openness and bodily exploration\, limits the pleasure in your everyday life. I believe that men urgently need to embrace vulnerability and this must extend to sex and pleasure. Why miss this type of pleasure? Break free from the cage of gender norms\, by allowing yourself to experience pleasure. In this way\, you can challenge societal taboos and reclaim your body. This change is not only physical but also societal. You can see it as a heroic action for the world and dismantle this regressive and hurtful legacy with a simple pegging. \n\n\n\n\nMiammy grew up in Greece\, studied at the Athens School of Fine Arts and Gerrit Rietveld Academie during an Erasmus exchange in Amsterdam. She loves interdisciplinary collaboration\, having participated in the transcultural program at Zürich University of the Arts and as a member of the Sinodi Papu Collective. Passionate about exploring people and cultures by traveling the world and Digital space.

SUMMARY:sex worker film & art festival | 28-30 march
DESCRIPTION:Welcome back to the second edition of queer.red presents! Whorehouse Cinema & Cabaret! \n\n\n\nqueer.red presents! proudly returns for a second and amplified edition of our film and arts festival that celebrates the art of sex workers! This year\, our programme focuses on queer and trans sex workers (as always)  and now with a much needed cabaret!  \n\n\n\nIn 2020 queer.red emerged with a manifesto to destigmatize how sex work is discussed and encourage expanding the rights and autonomy of sex workers. Since then\, we have organised 25+ events and collaborated internationally with festivals in Korea\, Austria\, Ireland\, and Belgium as well as in the Netherlands. Throughout our journey\, we’ve upheld our mission to direct resources to sex workers and support their creation of art\, to center the voice of sex workers\, and seek out their stories.  \n\n\n\nThis second edition of the festival offers an archive of photography\, an art exhibition\, workshops by and for sex workers\, a sharp selection of films and shorts\, as well as a cabaret that includes performers from throughout the Netherlands and France. Filmmakers will be traveling across the globe to present their work and for many it is the first time they are being compensated with a participation fee.  \n\n\n\nWe are also taking this opportunity to reaffirm our collaboration with sex worker-led organisations like Papaya Kuir and SAVE as well as other community-led festivals like SNAP! and Porn Film Festival Amsterdam.  \n\n\n\nDuring the festival\, we want those who are mostly impacted by injustice\, capitalism\, racism\, homo- and transphobia\, to be able to participate in our festival. Therefore some programmes will be sex worker-only\, donation-based\, or on a sliding scale. Our aim for this year is to make sure that 85% or more of the total budget goes directly to sex worker artists and volunteers.  \n\n\n\nThis event is by the community\, for the community. You are invited to join in on it’s diversity\, creativity and audacity. \n\n\n\nSee you at the Whorehouse!   \n\n\n\nThe queer.red team & board \n\n\n\nAlexis\, Aline\, Angel\, Domi\, Majk and Plette

SUMMARY:Unsolicited Brick Pick by Cece Monroe
DESCRIPTION:A response to male sexual violence in the digital age. \n\n\n\nFriday 31 March 18:00-23:00 \n\n\n\nSaturday 1 April 12:00-22:00 \n\n\n\nSunday 2 April 12:00-20:30 \n\n\n\nFree \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIf flashing your penis is an act of sexual violence\, why are unsolicited “dick pics” so ubiquitous in our society? The disconnect between the body and the image of the body leads to a disconnect between the action of sending a dick pic and the responsibility for this action. This is due\, in large part\, to the tacit social acceptability of “dick pics”\, it seems more acceptable to send a “dick pic” than to flash somebody. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nMasculinity has long been associated with penises. In this way\, sending a “dick pic” can be viewed as a display of masculinity. This displaying of masculinity is frequently done without context\, this causes the receiver of the “dick pic” to be immediately aware of their own objectification by others. Conversations opened with a “dick pic” are an immediate display of violence and objectification; analogous to having a brick thrown through your window. \n\n\n\n\n\nThrough unsolicited Brick Pic\, I explore this disconnect between the physical world and the online world. By printing the “dick pic” onto a physical object\, I bridged the divide between the two worlds: reconnecting the violence of flashing with the sending of a “dick pic” online. \n\n\n\n\n\nA brick is not just a symbol of permanence and strength but also a symbol of oppression and resistance\, especially to the queer community. “According to legend\, it was a piece of brick hurled atpolice officers outside of the Stonewall Inn that sparked the historic uprising.” Using a brick recognises the prevalence of unsolicited (1) dick pics in the queer community. Highlighting this further\, I chose to work with queer models\, all of whom spoke to me about their experiences of receiving unsolicited “dick pics”. \n(1) Smith\, R. (2020) Who threw the first brick at stonewall? A final and definitive answer to the internet’s favourite question\, PinkNews. Available at: (Accessed: November 19\, 2022).\n\n\n\n\nI hope viewers of my work walk away more aware of the subtle forms of sexual violence that are common place in our society.
